The good thing is, the screen works! The bad news? I spent an intense non-stop hour just trying to pop the back off the ipod. The tools included with this and similar kits are a joke--the plastic wont hold up when prying off the back. I used my fingernails to start, and then a butter knife to do it.
I think I was too gentle in prying it off in the beginning because I was afraid I'd break something based on these reviews. I chipped some of the black front and bent the side out pretty bad, but it bent back in nicely with a little hammering.
No instructions were included! And the videos I looked up online made the ipod-opening look easy. It's NOT. If an ipod has already been opened then that ipod will already have a gap, in which you can slide a thin object to pry it off. If not, then you have to weasel your way into the gap. And there is no way to clamp it, slide it, or grip it, only trying to find the biggest gap on your ipod and gradually insert larger tools until you can use a knife to get it off.
I'd backup all you music to you PC before going through with this.
